Inspired Writing
Inspired writing begins when an author sees, hears, or experiences something that must be explored. I can only speak for myself, but I will examine something or take a photo or video of it in order to pursue that inspiration. Case in point: these images from my recent trip during the holidays. Reading the Professor’s letters
As some of you may already know, I have been reading (with great joy) from The Letters of J. R. R. Tolkien. His letters to family and friends and agents and publishers has been such a grand look-inside to a master’s writing life. Highly, recommend it. Also, as I read, I find that he penned many short stories and novelettes that filled the publishers’ book lists while he wrote the next book in his Lord of the Ring series. One such book is this one.
