Are my characters “me” in disguise?

On writing characters… You can never tell with authors. They tend to write a part of themselves into their characters. Sometimes they even include a part of people they know. It’s difficult to tell sometimes, though.

I honestly can see facets of my personality in each of my characters. Whether it is dialogue like my own speech (Pappy Oh) or an act that I would perform (Hope). It is threaded in there.

I see my own naivety in Shannon. I see my love for creatures in Alyssa and I see my strength in Hope. And I also see bits of other people too.

I also see myself in characters that other people have written! There are facets of us in every paper person if we will look hard enough.

Have you ever wondered if a character was written about you?
