My laptop has begun to act sluggish of late, and I am considering purchasing a new one. When I put the question to my X friends about getting say, a Mac, the answer was no, don’t do that. I feel some kind of way about it though.

My kids work on Macs and they love them. Have nothing bad to say about them. And of course, I have an iPhone also, so there is that compatibility situation going on.

The problem remains with the software. I use Word pretty exclusively, and while there is a Word for Mac, I haven’t researched it to see if it will have all the bells and whistles I am used to. I have Scrivener for PC also, and while I could get a new version for Mac, I hate to pay for that.

What is your current laptop?

I currently am on an HP laptop. It has served me well. I could just clear off all the pics and videos that I have stored on it and get some speed/space back. I said I was only going to use it for writing back when I bought it. Ha! That ended with the advent of grandbabies 🙂 Sigh. What a dilemma!

I need a laptop that is lightweight and portable, which my current one is neither. It is heavy and bulky and a pain in the neck when going through the airport.

If you have switched from PC to Mac recently, give me your thoughts. I am really straddling the old fence with this one. What are the advantages of each? The negatives?
